THE BIRTH OF MY WORD
Words flow through me like sperm to my womb,
On an ultimate mission of bringing life into a less enlightened fearful and corrupted world.
When tongue and lips merge out escapes what one had considered too precious to express.
Taking its toll on my mind and my soul for my fetus to develop and grow
into something desired to teach the lesson learned.
My nine-month term sends me into labor.
Releasing, letter by letter etched with my essence,
The direct descendant from my experience of that Black Girl Lost.
Burdened by hate, racism, sexism and fear.
Yet blessed with love, innocence, and a chance to erase what’s past.
I give birth!
Let my words be heard with hope of enlightening the world
Let them see their ill fate of greed and fear
Shall it eat away at us leaving hatred and tears?
Treading through the shallow waters of lust and libido.
Dabbling in the bowl of disrespect.
Let my words be the glory that lifts us,
Where advancing technology takes last place to the advancement of unity and family.
Let me bring life into this world.
Let my words cry
